Professional Staff

Russ graduated from Middle Tennessee State with a Finance Degree and Minor in Business Administration. He was a 4 year letterman in golf for MTSU and turned Professional in 1990 where he worked at Fox Creek (Public)in Atlanta Ga., then he moved to Dorchester CC (Resort) in Fairfield Glade Tn., and finally came to Dalton Golf and Country Club in 1992 as an assistant golf professional.  Since he joined the DGCC family has accomplished the following:

• Became a Master Professional in the PGA.
• North Chapter of Georgia Section Teacher of the Year
• Received (G.S.E.B)golf stroke engineering bachelors  in the “The Golfing Machine”
• 3 Time Ping Fitter of the Year, 1 time Mizuno Fitter of the Year.
• 2018 Authorized Titleist Performance Institute instructor.
• 2018 US Kid’s authorized instructor.
• Authorized fitter in Taylormade, Titleist, Ping, Mizuno,

All of his hard work and trainings are paying off with the junior players.  Russ has had over 30 kids/students receive college golf scholarships.

Outside of his DGCC family, Russ has been married to Angela Allstun for 27 years and together they have a son, Jake Allstun, who is a Junior at The McCallie School in Chattanooga.
